A simpler, smarter network to support government operations

Older Wi-Fi technology couldn’t keep pace as Meerinzicht worked to provide social care and business operations for the towns of Harderwijk, Ermelo, and Zeewolde on the Veluwemeer Aqueduct. The office Wi-Fi was slow for staff to use and managing a multivendor network comprised of more than 80 switches was labor-intensive.

As the IT leaders at Meerinzicht explored the latest innovations in wired and wireless networking, they wanted a unified network solution that would deliver a better user experience at all locations, strengthen security, and simplify network operations.

“We have greater visibility across the wireless and wired network now,” said Koek. Seeing and understanding network activity allows the IT team to improve network performance, security, and operational efficiency.

“We can troubleshoot much faster, although we haven’t had many network support cases since deploying Juniper,” he said.

 Simplified network operations
The IT team no longer has to juggle 80 different switch configurations and software updates by hand. Now IT has two switch configuration templates—for core and access—that speed up network service delivery and reduce the risk of manual errors. Instead of spending hours at the command line, IT can set up a new VLAN in seconds in the Juniper Mist portal.
