0:07 hello I'm here at mwc 2025 with Mobile

0:11 World live and joining me I have Ramy

0:13 Rahim he's CEO of Juniper Networks Ramy

0:17 thank you for joining us thank you Dave

0:18 it's great to be here so Juna talks

0:20 about AI for networks and it also talks

0:23 about networks for AI so tell us what

0:25 the difference is yeah first I have to

0:27 say the pace of change of innovation now

0:30 in networks is just stunning it's an

0:32 exciting time to be in it it's an

0:34 exciting time to be in networks um you

0:37 know it almost reminds me of the early

0:39 days of when the internet was just

0:41 booming and networks were Center Stage

0:43 well networks are again Center Stage

0:45 because so much of the AI boom depends

0:47 on what's Happening the innovation in

0:48 this area and you're right we're looking

0:50 at the opportunity in two different ways

0:52 there is AI for networks and that's all

0:54 about leveraging artificial intelligence

0:56 to make operations day-to-day operations

0:59 of Networks far easier for Network

1:01 operators it's also about delighting the

1:03 end user with a robust experience uh but

1:07 then the second opportunity is about

1:09 networks for AI and that's about making

1:11 artificial intelligence any application

1:14 artificial intelligence possible to

1:16 begin with here of course AI just

1:18 doesn't happen out of thin air you need

1:19 to have reliable resilient high

1:22 performance networks that connect tens

1:24 hundreds thousands that these days

1:27 hundreds of thousands and soon millions

1:29 of gpus together and we're in the

1:31 business of doing that in fact at

1:32 Juniper we were the first company to

1:34 introduce 800 GB ethernet networking

1:36 switching and routing last year um in

1:39 perfect time for this massive

1:41 opportunity that is before us got it so

1:43 presumably this is a big Focus for you

1:45 here at the show yeah it absolutely is I

1:47 mean this show really is uh very much

1:49 about service providers so if you think

1:50 about the service provider opportunity

1:53 both AI for networks and networks for AI

1:55 are very much front and center um

1:59 service providers have these massive

2:01 very complex networks they throw so much

2:03 money at just keeping them up keeping

2:05 them running I think the days of looking

2:08 at AI to running networks for them as a

2:10 nice to have are over it's NOW essential

2:13 and we've got so many tools and

2:14 capabilities to help them do that but

2:16 then I also look at networks for AI for

2:18 service providers where they have the

2:20 ability to offer new Services GPU as a

2:23 service AI service to generate new

2:26 revenue streams so we can help them both

2:27 in Top Line and bottom line yeah nice

2:30 okay so there's another concept we we're

2:32 talking about here which is AI native

2:34 networking tell us about what that is

2:37 yeah well I'll tell you what it isn't

2:38 you know some of our peers just kind of

2:39 put AI on a slide and say that they have

2:41 ai well I'm sorry it's not that simple

2:43 AI depends on some really critical

2:46 ingredients three in particular the

2:48 first is about the ability to tap into

2:50 the right data and I'm not here just

2:53 talking about sort of understanding

2:54 whether Network elements are up or not

2:57 we want to understand in real time the

2:59 end user experience are my users happy

3:02 are they satisfied and we have the

3:04 ability to do that second it's about

3:07 having the right cloud and an

3:09 infrastructure to tap into this data to

3:11 glean insights that will help you take

3:14 really important actions and that's

3:16 really the third important attribute of

3:19 AI which is about the response it's not

3:21 enough as some of our peers say just to

3:23 have observability you need to translate

3:26 that observability into insight and

3:28 ultimately into action that makes the

3:30 network better for the enduser and

3:33 that's really the ingredients of our

3:36 Miss AI native platform that we have

3:38 introduced and been fine-tuning and

3:41 growing very successfully in the market

3:43 for the last decade so we're talking

3:44 really about continual Improvement of

3:46 the networks exactly right yes got it

3:48 Ramy thank you for the very interesting

3:50 insights and enjoy the rest of the event

3:52 appreciate it thank you
