Business Challenge
As customers demand innovative physical infrastructure and bandwidth services, providers have to keep up with the latest technology to offer the best performance and services. Zayo needed a next-generation 100GbE core network with a scalable service-oriented Ethernet edge to meet its customers' growing bandwidth needs.
Technology Solution
Zayo sought a routing solution that would be faster and better than the competition, delivering the performance, form factor, and optical integration it needed to grow its Layer 2 revenue. Zayo Group chose Juniper's SDN-ready PTX Series Packet Transport Routers for its core network in the U.S. and Europe, and the SDN-ready MX2010 router for its metro areas.
Business Results
Zayo has saved $1.8 million annually on power and cooling costs over other vendor solutions. The BGP-free MPLS core is capable of 8 Tbps and has the ability to grow to eight 100GbE ports per slot. Zayo can quickly deploy 100 Gbps services, and has significantly improved the customer experience through faster service agility and service availability.
